Job summary

PVM, Inc. in Arlington, VA seeks a Mid Level Forward Deployed Software Engineer to contribute to analytics dashboards, CI/CD tasks, and government collaborations. You will work in two‑week sprints with senior engineers and stakeholders to deliver production-ready features.

The role emphasizes ownership of features from design through deployment, writing reliable code, and collaborating in a small, fast-moving team. Foundry experience is preferred, with Python/TypeScript/Java skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including pipelines, Workshop/Slate, and Ontology.
• Ability to deliver production-ready features in a fast-paced, government-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver front-end analytical dashboard views using Foundry’s Workshop/Slate under guidance from senior engineers.
• Support CI/CD pipeline configuration tasks, including build scripts and automated tests.
• Implement metric definitions and data transformations aligned to the Foundry Ontology for consistent dashboard data.
• Produce technical documentation, runbooks, and sprint artifacts.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and government stakeholder demos.
• Conduct testing to ensure dashboards function correctly and data aligns with definitions.
• Identify integration issues and collaborate to resolve blockers with senior engineers.
• Support defect resolution and incremental enhancements for stable operations.

Mid Level Forward Deployed Software Engineer

Remote: Must reside in Arlington, Virginia or surrounding area

Reports to: Echo

Direct reports: None. Delta’s provide performance feedback on other engineers and participate in company peer mentorship program.

Travel: 0-10%

The Role

As a Mid-Level Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you will contribute directly to the development and delivery of Army Vantage capabilities. You will build analytical dashboard features, support CI/CD pipeline tasks, and work within a structured agile environment alongside senior engineers and government stakeholders.You will operate in two-week sprint cycles, contributing to feature delivery from design through deployment.

At our organization, an FDE takes ownership of their work — building reliable features, writing meaningful code, and ensuring each sprint increment is production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deliver front-end analytical dashboard views using Foundry’s Workshop/Slate application layer under guidance from senior engineers
• Support CI/CD pipeline configuration tasks, including build scripts, automated tests, and environment promotion workflows
• Implement metric definitions and data transformations aligned to the Foundry Ontology to ensure consistent data interpretation across dashboards
• Produce clear technical documentation, including configuration notes, runbooks, and sprint artifacts
• Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and demonstrations for government stakeholders
• Conduct testing and validation to confirm dashboards function correctly and data aligns with approved definitions
• Identify integration issues, surface blockers early, and collaborate with senior engineers to resolve them
• Support defect resolution and incremental enhancements to maintain stable operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including pipelines, Workshop/Slate, and Ontology
• 3+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience with Python, TypeScript, or Java in cloud-based data platforms
• Experience working in government, defense, or classified environments
• Ability to independently build features, test them, and deliver production-ready functionality
• Comfortable working in small, fast-moving technical teams
