Vaco by Highspring in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to build and enhance an AI-enabled development pipeline across iOS, Android, and Web. You will own end-to-end development from implementation through production, partner with internal teams and external vendors, and help drive architecture, security, and scalability.

The role focuses on delivering robust, scalable cloud solutions in AWS with strong React frontend work, and a hands-on approach to solving complex problems

About the Role

We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to help build and enhance a growing application ecosystem across iOS, Android, and Web.

A key focus will be helping build and own an AI-enabled development pipeline that improves how the engineering team builds and delivers applications. You'll work across customer-facing products and several supporting applications while partnering directly with internal teams, vendors, and external partners.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys building, solving complex problems, and owning solutions from development through production.

What You'll Do

• Build and enhance applications across iOS, Android, and Web.
• Help build and own the team's AI-enabled software development pipeline.
• Use AI development tools and APIs to improve application delivery and engineering productivity.
• Develop modern web applications using React.
• Build and operate cloud solutions within AWS.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of production software engineering experience.
• Financial services, banking, payments, fintech, or regulated industry experience.
• Strong application development experience across web, mobile, or both.
• Strong React experience.
• Hands-on AWS experience.
• Experience building or managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience incorporating AI into software development and application delivery.
• Experience working directly with technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and ownership skills.

Nice to Have

• Flutter experience. This is not required.
• Strong native iOS/Android or other compiled/cross-platform application experience.
• Experience with Claude, Claude Code, or AI APIs.
• Banking platform, payments, or fintech API integrations.
• Backend experience with Node.js, Python, Go, Java, or Kotlin.
• Experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or containerization.
• Experience with AI agents, MCP, Amazon Bedrock, or AI evaluation frameworks.
