Vaco by Highspring seeks a Principal AI Engineer to own AI architecture and deliver production AI agents and autonomous workflows. You will design, build, and deploy enterprise-grade AI solutions, integrating with APIs, databases, and business systems, while ensuring governance and reliability.

With 7+ years in software and 3+ years in AI, you will steer technology direction, drive scalable agent platforms, and influence AI roadmaps across the organization.

$185,000 - $195,000 / Plus Bonus / Additional Incentives

We're seeking a Principal AI Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of production AI agents and enterprise automation solutions. This individual will own AI architecture decisions, build agentic workflows, integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems, and help shape the organization's AI roadmap.

This is a highly visible, hands‑on individual contributor role for someone who enjoys turning emerging AI capabilities into practical business solutions.

Must Haves

• Production AI Agent Development - Experience building, deploying, and supporting AI agents in production environments with measurable business impact.
• Python & Software Engineering Expertise - Strong hands‑on experience building scalable applications, APIs, integrations, and enterprise‑grade solutions.
• Modern Agent Frameworks - Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, or comparable agent orchestration frameworks.
• Enterprise AI Integrations - Experience integrating AI solutions with APIs, databases, enterprise applications, business systems, and governed data sources.

Nice to Haves

• MCP, LangSmith & AI Evaluation Frameworks - Experience with agent monitoring, observability, tracing, governance, and performance evaluation.
• RAG & AI Knowledge Systems - Experience with vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, knowledge graphs, and retrieval‑augmented generation architectures.
• Data Engineering or ML Engineering Background - Experience supporting data platforms, machine learning workflows, or enterprise analytics environments.
• Enterprise Transformation Initiatives - Experience supporting AI, automation, research, legal, intellectual property, finance, or large‑scale business transformation efforts.

Qualifications & Responsibilities

• 7+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years of experience building AI, machine learning, generative AI, or intelligent automation solutions.
• Build, deploy, and support production AI agents and autonomous workflows using Python and modern agent frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, or similar technologies.
• Design and integrate AI solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, databases, and business systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and business impact.
• Own AI architecture, technical direction, and engineering standards, driving best practices across development, testing, monitoring, and governance.
• Leverage technologies such as RAG, vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, knowledge graphs, MCP, and AI evaluation frameworks to build enterprise‑grade AI capabilities.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to identify high‑value use cases, deliver automation solutions, and support broader AI and digital transformation initiatives.
