Job summary

Dataro is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Forward Deployed to work directly with US-based customers, designing integrations and optimizing data pipelines end-to-end. You will be the bridge between clients and our Sydney team, solving technical problems and guiding deployments across multi-year engagements.

You will own engagements, require independent decision-making in ambiguous situations, and enjoy blending hands-on coding with client interaction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience building real-world data pipelines with deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Extremely strong SQL skills with large, complex datasets.
• Extremely strong Python skills, production-grade coding.
• Understanding of databases, query optimization, and software engineering practices.
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, Batch, Lambda, S3, Athena).
• Proven experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Excellent communication skills - leading customer calls and translating technical topics.
• Ability to work independently and make good decisions with limited oversight.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to understand their systems, data structures, and fundraising workflows.
• Bridge between clients, engineering, sales, and customer success—translate requirements into solutions.
• Develop and maintain integrations across dozens of fundraising, CRM, and related platforms.
• Build, extend, and optimize data pipelines that process large volumes of records.
• Troubleshoot data issues across ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate with data scientists and data engineers to ensure models run effectively.
• Guide customers through onboarding, technical implementation, and long-term success.
• Represent the engineering function in-market and advocate for customer needs internally.
