Job summary

Overjoy is seeking an in-person Compliance Program Lead in New York City to translate retailer and supplier requirements into concrete controls, evidence standards, and ownership assignments. You will guide engagements from discovery to rollout, coordinating with legal, product, and engineering to implement AI-assisted document review and workflow monitoring.

• Coordinate collection and validation of supplier records, certifications, insurance, product documentation, and other evidence required for customer programs.
• Run risk assessments, readiness reviews, issue tracking, and corrective-action follow-up with customer teams and relevant specialists.
• Work with engineering to configure and test AI-assisted document review and monitoring, including source traceability, version control, and human review of ambiguous or consequential findings.
• Train users, track overdue evidence and unresolved issues, and measure review turnaround and control effectiveness; bring recurring needs back to product and engineering.

About the Role

This is a full-time, in-person role based in New York City.

Consumer brands face a growing set of retailer requirements, supplier obligations, product documentation needs, and internal controls. You'll help customers turn those requirements into a practical compliance program with clear ownership and reliable evidence.

You'll lead customer engagements from process discovery through rollout, partnering with legal and subject-matter experts on interpretation and with engineering on implementation. Your work will turn approved requirements into AI-assisted checks and operating workflows that surface gaps, route exceptions, and make reviews easier to complete.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in compliance, quality systems, risk, audit, or regulatory operations, with ownership of programs and remediation work.

• Experience with consumer products, retail, manufacturing, distribution, or a similarly regulated operating environment.

• Ability to convert complex requirements into clear processes and distinguish missing evidence, control failures, and matters requiring legal interpretation.

• Experience maintaining audit-ready documentation, coordinating stakeholders, and managing corrective actions through completion.

• Hands‑on use of AI, automation, or compliance systems, with strong judgment about accuracy, confidentiality, and review requirements.

• Depth in a relevant area such as food and beverage, product safety, supplier assurance, labeling, or privacy is a plus; relevant compliance or audit certifications are welcome.
