Job summary

Primis is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join its Solutions Engineering team, acting as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers in production AI settings.

You will partner with ML teams, lead technical discussions, and guide GenAI/ML best practices, while demoing the product and shaping the roadmap with engineering and product teams. Remote role with NYC or SF offices, strong cloud and Python skills required.

Qualifications

• Background as a Data Scientist, ML Engineer, or Engineer working with ML or GenAI applications in production.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with ML frameworks and LLM/agentic tooling.
• Solid understanding of the ML lifecycle - feature generation, training, deployment, and real-time scoring.
• Proficiency in Python or another programming language.
• Strong communicator who can make complex technical concepts accessible to any audience.
• Previous customer-facing experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with enterprise ML and GenAI teams to help them understand and improve how their AI performs in production.
• Lead technical discussions with data scientists and engineers, then shift gears to business conversations with directors and executives.
• Advise on GenAI and ML best practices, model evaluation, and production deployment.
• Demo the product to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Feed customer insights back into the product roadmap by working closely with engineering and product teams.
• Identify and drive expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
