Job summary

Snorkel AI is seeking a Manager, Forward Deployed Engineering to build and lead the FDE function within the DaaS organization. You will manage engineers across the full AI data lifecycle, from designing evaluation systems to developing scalable HITL workflows.

This hands-on leadership role blends strategy with implementation, partnering with Delivery, Engineering, and Research to ensure high-quality execution across DaaS projects and scalable data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in AI/ML/GenAI engineering or related roles with hands-on depth.
• 2+ years leading or mentoring engineers in a hands-on setting.
• Proven experience building and operating data pipelines and ML/LLM-based workflows in production.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Forward Deployed Engineering function, defining the team’s operating model and technical roadmap.
• Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
• Own the design and evolution of end-to-end AI data pipelines, including dataset generation and evaluation systems.
• Drive ML-assisted and HITL workflows to improve speed, scalability, and reliability of data production.
• Establish measurement, benchmarking, and validation systems for consistent data delivery.
• Develop scalable internal tooling and orchestration for delivery and monitoring.
