Snorkel AI is hiring a Director, Forward Deployed Researcher on the Data-as-a-service team. You will lead a player‑coach group with half time on people leadership and half on hands‑on work on strategic accounts, shaping technical standards and scalable playbooks.

The role partners with AE leadership on pipeline strategy and cross‑functional delivery, demanding strong communication and a track record of hiring top technical talent in frontier AI domains.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in applied ML, AI solutions engineering, or research-facing roles.
• 5+ years leading technical ICs, preferably in presales/solutions engineering.
• Strong expertise in frontier AI concepts (LLMs, data pipelines, RLHF, etc.).
• Track record of hiring and developing technical talent.
• Experience working toward revenue or pipeline goals in GTM.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and develop the forward deployed research team and coach for technical quality and customer engagement.
• Set the technical bar for specifications, evaluation frameworks, and customer deliverables.
• Own SE capacity planning and account coverage; collaborate on deal strategy and pipeline forecasting.
• Establish team processes and playbooks for discovery, spec development, and knowledge sharing.
• Lead technical discussions on strategic accounts and collaborate with frontier AI research teams.
• Serve as escalation point for complex customer situations.
