Job summary

micro1 is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to advance applied AI for U.S. Government missions. The role spans model experimentation, infrastructure, and deployment in high-assurance environments, including forward-deployed work with strategic partners to ensure mission success.

You will build agentic AI systems, design LLM applications, and work with government partners to translate needs into robust technical solutions, owning the full lifecycle from discovery to deployment.

Qualifications

• Strong Python engineering skills with end-to-end ownership.
• Experience with LLMs and agentic system creation.
• Built or maintained data pipelines and ML infrastructure.
• Familiar with reinforcement learning workflows or simulators.
• Comfortable in high-security, high-reliability environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy agentic AI systems from prototype to production for mission-critical uses.
• Design and integrate LLM applications, including multi-agent systems and tool-using agents.
• Collaborate with government partners to translate mission needs into technical systems.
• Build and maintain data curation and evaluation pipelines for model training and improvement.
• Develop infrastructure for model inference, experimentation, evaluation, and deployment.
• Build AI systems that turn mission data, models, and tools into operational autonomy.
• Own systems across the full lifecycle from discovery to deployment and iteration.
