Job summary

A forward deployed engineer at Amazon Web Services embeds inside a strategic enterprise customer to design, build, deploy, and run AI-powered production systems with the customer’s engineering team. You own outcomes end-to-end, from prototype to enterprise-scale deployment, combining AWS SDE rigor with urgency to deliver measurable business impact.

You will create reusable architectures that scale the FDE practice, mentor engineers, and contribute to AWS AI best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• At least 5 years of programming with at least one language.
• 5+ years leading design or architecture of systems at scale.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience leading production-scale AI agentic development.
• Experience with AI tools: eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Embed within customer engineering teams and translate problems into scalable AI systems.
• Build production AI applications and integrate data sources, APIs, and applications.
• Own production: troubleshoot incidents and ensure monitoring, testing, and resiliency.
• Accelerate customer transformation by codifying reusable patterns and architectures.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to AWS engineering best practices.
