Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with enterprise customers, designing, building, deploying, and running AI-powered production systems alongside their engineering teams.

You will own outcomes end-to-end—from prototype through enterprise deployment—creating reusable architectures and patterns that scale the FDE practice. Travel 30–50% is required to deliver across engagements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or engineering team lead.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to senior stakeholders.
• Experience leading AI agent development at production scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery across customer engagements and define cross-team strategy.
• Architect and build production AI systems at enterprise scale.
• Define production readiness criteria and observability standards.
• Scale the team’s effectiveness through mentoring and coaching.
• Identify opportunities to expand AI adoption and build accelerators.
