Job summary

The Salvation Army Indiana Division is seeking a Community Center Coordinator in Fort Wayne to lead all aspects of the corps community center ministries, including program development, scheduling, budgeting and community relations.

Responsibilities include supervising staff and volunteers, coordinating facility use, promoting programs, and ensuring all activities align with the Salvation Army mission. A background check, driver’s license and Safe From Harm training are required.

Qualifications

• Background checks required and review of results.
• Experience in office/administration and public interaction.
• Valid driver’s license and Safe From Harm training within 90 days; CPR and first aid certifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to produce reports and present information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities of the Community Center.
• Coordinate with program directors and community collaborators for program success.
• Communicate needs and successes to schools, clubs, and media.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate center staff and volunteers.
• Develop and update promotional plans to maximize participation.
• Schedule facility usage and manage rentals and staffing as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Salvation Army policies and risk management procedures.
