Job summary

The Salvation Army Indiana Division is seeking a Community Center Coordinator in Fort Wayne, IN. This full-time role manages the corps community center, coordinating programs, schedule, and staff to deliver services aligned with the Salvation Army mission.

You will lead community outreach, develop promotional plans, and ensure compliant operations while maintaining registration records and collaborating with divisional HQ. A driver’s license and safety training are required.

Qualifications

• Background check required.
• Experience in office/administration preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and Safe From Harm training within 90 days; CPR and first aid certifications.
• Strong organizational and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities of the Community Center.
• Collaborate with program directors and partners to ensure program success.
• Communicate needs and successes to schools, service clubs, or media.
• Train, supervise and evaluate staff and volunteers.
• Evaluate programs and adjust to demographics, needs and growth.
• Develop and update promotional plans to maximize participation.
• Coordinate center schedule and facility usage.
• Assist with rentals, payments, and staffing as needed.
• Ensure policies and risk management procedures are followed.
• Maintain registration forms, documents, and databases.
• Keep calendars and descriptions updated; stay current with tech tools.
• Maintain communication with divisional headquarters.
• Demonstrate commitment to Salvation Army mission and community service.
• Model ethical leadership and respectful communication.
• Support well-being and development of all participants.
• Support Salvation Army mission and inclusive environment.
• Ensure a welcoming environment for all ages and backgrounds.
• Follow SFH guidelines for safe, healthy ministries.
• Assist with Christmas activities; bell ringing, kettles, drivers, toy distribution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
