Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division in Fort Wayne, IN seeks a Community Center Coordinator to lead all aspects of the corps community center ministries. You will develop, implement and evaluate a portfolio of programs, coordinating activities, space, and schedules with school and community partners to boost participation.

You will supervise staff and volunteers, manage budgets, ensure program compliance with policies and risk procedures, and foster inclusive, ethical leadership

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Background check required and results reviewed.
• Experience in office/administration with public interaction; people skills.
• Valid driver’s license and Safe From Harm training; CPR/First Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities for Community Center.
• Collaborate with program directors and community partners.
• Communicate needs and successes to schools, clubs, and media.
• Train, supervise and evaluate staff and volunteers.
• Develop promotional plans to maximize participation.
• Coordinate the Community Center schedule and facility usage.
• Assist with rentals, payments and staffing as needed.
• Ensure compliance with policies and risk management.
• Maintain registration forms, documents and databases.
• Maintain computer calendars and stay updated on technology.
• Engage with divisional headquarters and reflect mission.
• Demonstrate ethical leadership and inclusive engagement.
• Support Christmas efforts as needed.
