Job summary

Tyson Foods in Dallas, TX is seeking a Production Supervisor to help set up operations, maintain production lines, and train new team members on the B shift.

Must have 2+ years in food manufacturing, strong leadership, and solid communication. Proficiency with Excel, SAP, Outlook and Word is required; ability to solve root-cause problems and work with minimal supervision.

You will coordinate scheduling, ensure safety and policy compliance, and support maintenance needs to keep product flowing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in food manufacturing; leadership of small teams preferred.
• Basic computer skills: Excel, SAP, Outlook, and Word for schedules and data interpretation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Leadership and problem-solving skills; able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and upkeep of production lines and maintain production reports.
• Train new team members and coordinate team member schedules.
• Close out process orders and manage inventory accuracy.
• Communicate safety and policy violations for corrective action; support maintenance needs.

Job Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the following: assisting in the set-up operations and upkeep of production lines; training of new Team Members; preparing and maintaining production reports; communicating objectives between management and hourly Team Member’s. Closing out process orders and conducting inventory for accuracy. Other duties include coordinating Team Member schedules to meet the needs of the department; reporting safety and policy violations for corrective measures; assist and maintain product flow in the event of down time; communicate maintenance needs within the department; provide relief breaks to other Team Members as needed; comply with all company and USDA guidelines; other duties as needed.

Job Requirements :

Education : High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience : 2 plus years’ experience in food manufacturing. Experience leading small team is preferred.

Computer Skills : Basic computer skills – experience with excel, SAP, outlook, and word (creating schedules, data interpretation, etc).

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with root cause problem solving techniques preferred (5why, cause mapping, fishbone, etc)

Special Skills : Strong leadership and problem-solving skills; strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Supervisory: Acts as a team leader providing functional supervision for other members of the work unit. Does not directly supervise.

Internal Qualifications

• Must not have 4 or more attendance points for locations on an 8 point policy (on application date)
• No written warning in the past six (6) months
• No suspension on record for the last 12 months
