Job summary

Tyson Foods in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift to maintain high production, quality and yields while ensuring a safe working environment. You will oversee line staffing, monitor equipment, and ensure compliance with USDA inspections.

Responsibilities include hiring, training and coaching team members, guiding shifts, reviewing daily production orders, and maintaining accurate records and inventory.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/college courses preferred.
  • 1+ years in a manufacturing environment; prior supervisory experience recommended.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food industry processes and equipment is a plus.
  • Experience with budgeting/financial indicators is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the team through hiring, training, retention, and coaching on policies and benefits.
  • Guide and rotate team members across workstations during shifts.
  • Review daily production orders to ensure on-time fulfillment and accurate shipments.
  • Ensure all stations are staffed before production starts and that machinery is functioning properly.
  • Promote safety and participate in monthly safety meetings; oversee processing operations and problem-solving with other supervisors.
  • Provide ongoing education on quality and maintain thorough record-keeping.

Join Our Team in the Prepared Foods Division as a Production Supervisor! You can expect your day to day include maintaining high production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest working environment possible. This position requires an essential understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing.

RESPONSIBILITIES: You’ll build the best team possible. That includes Hiring, training, Retaining, and counseling on personal and professional problems as well as educating your team on benefits, compensations, and company policies.

You’ll guide the team in stretches before their shift and rotate workstations throughout the shift.

Checking daily production orders to ensure fulfillment of customer orders, ensuring accurate shipments, record keeping, rotation of inventory, and proper coding of products.

Ensuring all workstations on your line are staffed before start-up of production.

Ensuring all machinery is performing and all workstations have passed USDA Inspection Promoting safety daily as well as through monthly safety meetings.

Overseeing various processing operations and working with other supervisors in solving problems.

Providing continuous education on the importance of quality.

Performing other responsibilities as the need arises.

Travel: Some travel is required. This could be to other facilities or to corporate. Must reside in the United States. Sponsorship is not available. Relocation Assistance Eligible: Yes

REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or college courses preferred.
  • Experience: 1+ years in a manufacturing environment highly preferred; prior supervisory experience required.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Special Skills: Strong leadership and problem-solving skills; strong work ethic, and ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food industry processes and equipment, understanding of financial indicators/analysis, and experience in budget development/management.
  • Work Shift: 2ND SHIFT (United States of America)
