Myers Park Country Club in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Formal Server to deliver polished, wine-forward service to members and guests across multi-course dining experiences.

You will greet guests, recommend daily specials and wine pairings, and maintain exacting standards for timing, presentation, and accuracy. The role requires flexibility, fine-dining expertise, and a commitment to superior hospitality.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of service experience in fine dining restaurants or country clubs.
• Excellent communication, hospitable, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule; nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Knowledge of wine, wine service and wine pairings.
• Ability to time service of each course and mark the table.

Responsibilities

• Set the dining room with proper linens, silverware, napkins, and glassware.
• Set up the side station and perform assigned side (prep) work.
• Greet and acknowledge members and guests; provide immediate attention.
• Serve tables efficiently, offering daily specials and wine suggestions.
• Follow proper formal service protocols for bread, wine, and coursing.
• Facilitate service techniques, such as serving from the left and clearing from the right.
• Inform supervisor of any complaints.
• Ensure correct member numbers and names are used for billing.
• Complete all closing duties assigned by the manager.

As a Formal Server, you play an important role in creating an exceptional dining experience for our members and their guests. You are warm, welcoming and attentive, with the confidence to make thoughtful food and beverage recommendations and the commitment to consistently exceed expectations. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in getting the details right. Formal dining requires a high level of precision, consistency and professionalism. Every aspect of the experience, from service and timing to presentation, should be polished and intentional. Excellence is the standard. Accuracy matters, and the details matter. Servers must be patient, conscientious and willing to check and double-check their work to ensure it is correct every time. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, hold themselves to a high standard and understand that exceptional service is in the details.

Requirements

• Set the dining room with the proper linens, silverware, napkins, and glassware.
• Set up the side station and perform assigned side (prep) work.
• Learn members' names and their special preferences.
• Greet and acknowledge members and guests and provide immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating.
• Serve tables efficiently in a friendly and courteous manner, offering suggestions on daily specials and wine selections.
• Follow proper formal service protocols, including proper bread service, wine service, and coursing out each three-to-six course meal.
• Facilitate proper service techniques, such as serving from the left and clearing from the right.
• Advise supervisor or manager of any complaints should they occur.
• Ensure that the correct member numbers and names are given for billing.
• Complete all closing duties assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of service experience in fine dining restaurants or country clubs.

• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule; including nights, weekends, and holidays. (The Byron Nelson Lounge is open Thursday-Saturday weekly, with service starting at 5:00 PM.)
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 35 pounds, stand for long periods of time, and climb stairs.
• Extensive knowledge of wine, wine service, and wine pairings.
• Ability to time the service of each course and mark the table for each course.
• Prior knowledge of spirits and cocktails.
