Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Elwood, Illinois is hiring a Material Handler / Warehouse Forklift Operator. The role involves forklift operation, loading, picking, packing, shipping, and cycle counting in a clean, safety‑minded facility.

You will earn $23.00 per hour with a Sunday–Wednesday schedule 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, weekly pay, and benefits including medical, dental, vision and a 401(k). Prior warehouse experience and a valid forklift license preferred; strong teamwork and reliability essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Minimum 1 year warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid forklift operator's license required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift and push/pull up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, and receiving.
• Operate forklift and participate in cycle counting.
• Maintain accurate picking/packing and paperwork like bills of lading.
• Provide support for automated packing systems during shift hours.
• Adhere to performance guidelines of the contract and company safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
