McGrath Rent Corp is hiring a Forklift Operator/Yard Assistant in Grand Prairie, TX. You will operate tugger equipment to move modular buildings and heavy items and use forklifts to stack and retrieve warehouse materials. You may also deliver materials to job sites and assist in tire/axle changes in the yard.

The role emphasizes safety, daily inspections, and inventory accuracy. Typical hours are M-TH 6:00AM–4:30PM, with a strong focus on reliability and teamwork in a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outside in variable weather conditions.
• Must be able to follow spoken and written instruction.
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff and customers as needed.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to safely perform all tasks and understand Company’s safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Prior experience in related work required.
• Possess and maintain current certification in the operations of required forklift and related equipment.
• Manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day.

Responsibilities

• Operate tugger and other equipment to move and retrieve modular buildings, containers, tanks and large, heavy equipment in the yard.
• Operate forklift to stack and retrieve supplies and materials within the warehouse.
• Occasionally deliver materials to job sites using company vehicle.
• Assist yard crew as needed with changing tires and axles on modular buildings.
• Assisting with inventory accuracy when in the warehouse.
• Document location of equipment and communicate location to office staff as needed.
• Ensure equipment is in proper working order and documents inspections of equipment; reports discrepancies.
• Maintain daily inspection log(s) for equipment and properly report exceptions; ensure equipment receives periodic maintenance.
