Berry Material Handling is a full-service dealership that sells, rents, services, and repairs new and used Yale and Hyster forklift lines. We also distribute and install material handling and industrial equipment.

Berry Material Handling - Wichita is seeking an experienced forklift technician/mechanic with strong hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills, ready for field and/or shop work. We provide in-house, paid training. If you're a forklift technician seeking a new opportunity, apply today!

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00, no weekends.

Position Details: Hourly paid position — no flat rate!

Responsibilities

• Effectively repair machine components in the field, ensuring high quality standards.
• Recondition and repair equipment and components.
• Plan repair methods and sequences.
• Pre-order parts and materials needed for repairs.
• Perform repairs safely and efficiently.
• Ensure repairs meet cosmetic and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Keep accurate records of time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases.
• Ensure all records are legible and compliant with procedures.
• Report daily field activities, even when not returning to the company each day.
• Maintain shop tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Present a professional personal appearance and wear required PPE.
• Communicate respectfully and with integrity with customers and coworkers.
• Conduct inspections to determine causes of failures following established guidelines.

Qualifications

• Strong potential for developing mechanical skills, good communication, and safe work habits.
• Electric forklift experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Teamwork and cooperation with parts personnel and other technicians.
• Spanish speaking skills are valued.
• Technical school or equivalent mechanical repair experience preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.

Physical Requirements

• Dexterity for operating equipment.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 50-100 pounds; frequent 20-50 pounds; continuous 10-20 pounds.
• Regular standing, walking, reaching, grasping, and lifting; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling.
• Exposure to outdoor weather, fumes, and loud noise.
