Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of forklift operating experience required.
• Warehouse experience including order picking, inventory locating, and loading/unloading.
• Basic carpentry skills to measure, cut wood, and build/repair wooden crates.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Able to pass forklift proficiency testing, drug screening, and background checks.
• Physically able to perform demands of outdoor work in varying weather.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and material-handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and store household goods and materials.
• Receive, inspect, locate, pick, and organize inventory for storage or shipment.
• Accurately interpret shipping documents, inventory records, and warehouse paperwork.
• Build, repair, and refurbish wooden storage crates using saws, drills, hammers, and other tools.
• Inspect forklifts and equipment regularly, reporting damage or safety concerns.
• Secure and organize materials on pallets, racks, and in storage containers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and loading dock.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
• Assist with general warehouse operations and other duties as assigned.

Stewart Moving & Storage is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and experienced Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate to join our Dover, DE facility.

With warehouse storage operations supporting military and commercial household goods, we are looking for a safety-conscious, detail-oriented individual interested in a long-term career opportunity.

This position involves forklift operation, warehouse inventory management, loading and unloading shipments, and carpentry work, including building and refurbishing wooden storage crates.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate forklifts and material-handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and store household goods and materials.

Receive, inspect, locate, pick, and organize inventory for storage or shipment.

Previous warehouse experience, including order picking, inventory locating, and loading/unloading.

Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.

Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately complete warehouse documentation.

Ability to pass forklift proficiency testing, a federal drug screening, and a background check.

Ability to perform physically demanding work, including working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Flexibility to work overtime, evenings, or weekends as needed.
