Goodwill Industries of Delaware & Delaware County, Inc. in New Castle, DE is seeking a safety-minded Forklift Operator for a full-time temporary assignment. You will load, unload, move materials, and manage bonded import/export cargo, with day and evening shifts available.

Responsibilities include operating sit-down/stand-up forklifts, verifying shipments, recording inventory, and following safety procedures to ensure accurate, on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of forklift operating experience (propane preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
• Able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.

Forklift Operator

New Castle, DE - $18.00 - $20.00 / Hour - Full-Time

Temporary Assignment through Goodwill® Staffing Services.

Are you safety-focused, dependable, and ready to put your forklift skills to work in a professional warehouse environment? We are looking for experienced Forklift Operators to support daily warehouse operations, including the loading, unloading, storing, and moving of materials and bonded import and export cargo.

This role has day and evening shift openings, offered in a team-oriented environment that values safety, accuracy, and reliability.

What You’ll Do

• Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload, transport, and stack materials within the warehouse.
• Safely maneuver equipment in narrow aisles, tight spaces, and congested work areas while following all safety procedures.
• Load and offload trailers and containers.
• Handle bonded import and export cargo and maintain required documentation.
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using handheld scanners and the warehouse management system (WMS).
• Perform routine forklift inspections and report mechanical or safety issues.
• Report damaged items, discrepancies, or safety concerns to management.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including housekeeping duties.
• Work overtime and travel to other local warehouse locations when business needs require.
• Assist with additional warehouse duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant forklift operating experience (propane fueled forklift experience preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
• Able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attendance and reliability - dependability is essential for this role.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Team-oriented; able to follow procedures and maintain proper documentation.
• Flexibility to adapt to varying work locations and schedules.
• Willingness and ability to learn regulatory guidelines related to import and export cargo handling.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and a criminal background check in compliance with CBP and TSA regulations.
• Steel-toe boots required; all other required personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided.

Equipment Certifications

Forklift certification is preferred but not required. Candidates should demonstrate previous experience operating the equipment safely and effectively.

Available Shifts

• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
