  • Must operate using plant 2-way radio system.

Job Description Summary

This position performs the transport, loading and offloading of materials and other warehouse duties in a timely and safe manner to fulfill the needs of production and our customers. This role is pivotal to maintaining production flow, ensuring we can provide quality products to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Follow outlined duties as assigned in daily inbound / outbound schedule from warehouse management.
  • Maintain the principles of first in / first out (FIFO) in the storage and retrieval of materials.
  • Transport materials and finished goods within production and warehouse facilities.
  • Coordinate with other lift truck drivers and production personnel to ensure the efficient performance of warehouse and production processes.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks to maximize work efficiency.
  • Perform sanitation duties as required to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • (For Forklift Operator II) Provide direction to other employees under the supervision of the supervisor to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • (For Forklift Operator II) Coordinate and direct all forklift duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • Education/ Certifications: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; forklift certification required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
  • Experience: Experience driving forklift in warehouse or manufacturing establishment preferred.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing; ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English (both written and oral) (Requirement may vary by location).
  • Math: Ability to perform basic math functions, required.
  • Radio: Must be able to communicate using plant 2‑way radio system.
  • Applicability of job levels varies by location and is determined by the plant skills matrix.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to sit and use hands/fingers to feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms to climb or balance.
  • Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
  • Ability to operate work related equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, humidity, oils, smells and allergens.
  • Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation.
  • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis.

Pay and Compensation

Pay Rate or Range: $25.70 per hour (reasonable estimate).
