Job summary

Pro Trans International is seeking a Forklift Material Handler to load, unload, and move materials within the center, cross dock, trailers, yard, or work site. You will read work orders, inspect items, and use forklifts or handling equipment to move and secure materials.

Responsibilities include completing receiving/shipping documents, using a mobile scanner, labeling shipments correctly, and maintaining a safe, clean work area.

Qualifications

• Ability to read work orders and follow instructions.
• Inspect items for identity, quantity and condition.
• Operate forklift or other handling equipment.
• Complete receiving/shipping documents per ProTrans specifications.
• Perform daily safety and equipment checks.

Responsibilities

• Reads work orders or follows instructions to identify materials to move.
• Receives items for shipment and inspects for identity, quantity and damage.
• Opens containers as directed.
• Loads/unloads materials onto pallets and into carriers using forklift or handling equipment.
• Loads materials into carrier vehicles and secures with loading tools.
• Completes receiving/shipping documents per ProTrans specifications.
• Uses mobile scanner for receiving/shipping activities.
• Identifies shipments with proper labeling and handling instructions.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Performs daily safety checks and uses equipment safely.
• Offers improvement ideas to enhance performance of position and team.
