Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Material Handler / Forklift Operator to join our distribution center team. You will operate forklifts, load and unload building materials, and help with staging and inventory.

Requirements include one year of forklift/warehouse experience, the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, read orders, and follow safety procedures. We offer a fixed wage of 22.29 per hour, Monday–Friday schedules, comprehensive benefits starting day one, PTO and holidays, and a

Qualifications

One year or more forklift/warehouse experience.
Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport products.
Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.

Responsibilities

Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.
