Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is seeking personnel to support warehousing and production operations in its North American Steel Group. The role involves maintaining a clean work area, operating production equipment, and supporting unloading/loading of materials for customers.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work in varying weather conditions, and pass pre-op checks. High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Experience with sorting metals is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety regulations.
• Operate production equipment per procedures.
• Participate in CMC safety programs and uphold safety culture.
• Assist in unloading/loading of materials for customers.
• Capable of operating multiple material handling pieces of equipment.
• Perform pre-operational checks, cleaning, lubrication, and refilling fluids.
• Promote a good team environment.

What You'll Do

• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations
• Operates production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
• Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
• Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
• Assist in unloading and loading of material for customers
• Capable of operating multiple pieces of material handling equipment used primarily in the scrap industry
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, clean, lubricate, and refill the necessary fluids.
• Promote a good team environment

What You'll Need

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Experience with metal sorting a plus but not required; to include the ability to distinguish between different metals and/or other materials for grading purposes and recognizing safety hazards
• Must be able to frequently lift 25 lbs or more to include carrying or pushing objects up to 100ft
• Must be able to perform the physical task of the job assigned; to include climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
• Must be able to stand for significant lengths of time in an industrial environment with exposure to all elements of weather

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
