Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Forklift Operator II to load and unload material from trucks and rail cars, and to maintain accurate shipping and receiving records. This role operates under close supervision and follows company directions.

The position offers an hourly pay range with benefits and opportunities for safety and process improvements. Responsibilities include moving material, labeling products, performing equipment checks, maintaining a clean yard, and completing required paperwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience driving a forklift or operating similar equipment.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.
• Forklift Driver licensing process must be completed.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks and rail cars.
• Moves material and other products from storage to work areas and vice versa as required.
• Breaks packs to correct size and labels material before loading onto a truck or rail car.
• Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Completes preshift startup equipment checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains yard and ensures it is organized and clean.
• Completes paperwork as required.
• Empty trash and wood hoppers.
• Follows forklift rules and policies as described by Company policy.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required.

Compensation & Benefit Information

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.00 an hour dependent on experience*

• pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay

Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
