Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Forklift Operator II to load and unload material on trucks and rail cars, and maintain accurate shipping/receiving records. The role operates under supervision and follows established directions.

The position requires basic math skills, forklift experience, and completion of the licensing process, with an emphasis on safety and accuracy in paperwork.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
6 months to 1 year forklift or similar equipment experience.
Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.
Successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process.
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Loads and unloads trucks and rail cars.
Moves material between storage and work areas or to work areas as required.
Breaks packs to correct size and labels material before loading onto a truck or rail car.
Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment.
Completes preshift startup equipment checklist and reports problems or concerns.
Maintains yard and ensures it is organized and clean.
Completes paperwork as required.
Follows forklift rules and policies as described by Company policy.
Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
Performs other duties as required.

Moves material and other products from storage to work areas and vice versa as required.
Breaks packs to correct size and labels material before loading product on a truck or rail car
Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment.
Completes preshiftstartup equipment checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
Maintains yard and ensures it is organized and clean.
Completes paperwork as required.
Empty trash and wood hoppers.
Follows forklift rules and policies as described by Company policy.
Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum 9th-grade basic education High school diploma GED preferred but not required
Prefers 6 months to 1 year of experience driving a forklift or operating similar equipment.
Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred
Successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process
Must be at least 18 years of age

Compensation & Benefit Information

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.00 an hour dependent on experience*

pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay

Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
