Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Forklift Operator II to load and unload materials from trucks and rail cars and to maintain accurate shipping/receiving records. The role operates under direct supervision and follows specific directions and instructions.

The position requires basic math, attendance at a forklift licensing process, and applicants must be at least 18 years old. It includes comprehensive benefits and a pay range of $21.00–$23.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9th‑grade education; High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Prefers 6 months to 1 year of forklift operation experience.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.
• Must successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks and rail cars.
• Moves material and other products from storage to work areas as required.
• Breaks packs to correct size and labels material before loading.
• Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Completes preshift startup equipment checklist and reports problems.
• Maintains yard and keeps it organized and clean.
• Completes paperwork as required.
• Follows forklift rules and company policies.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.

Forklift Operator II is responsible for the loading and unloading of material on trucks and rail cars. Maintains correct paperwork and shipping and receiving records are required. Works under immediate supervision and relies on specific directions and instructions.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks and rail cars
• Moves material and other products from storage to work areas and vice versa as required.
• Breaks packs to correct size and labels material before loading product on a truck or rail car
• Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Completes preshiftstartup equipment checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains yard and ensures it is organized and clean.
• Completes paperwork as required.
• Empty trash and wood hoppers.
• Follows forklift rules and policies as described by Company policy.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9th-grade basic education High school diploma GED preferred but not required
• Prefers 6 months to 1 year of experience driving a forklift or operating similar equipment.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred
• Successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Compensation & Benefit Information

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.00 an hour dependent on experience*

*pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay

Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
