Job summary

Capital Lumber Company in Donald, OR is seeking a Forklift Operator for its Donald distribution site. You will operate a forklift, load and unload lumber, stage orders, and help maintain a safe, efficient yard environment.

You must follow OSHA safety rules, perform daily equipment inspections, and assist with inventory and housekeeping. The role requires physical capability to lift up to 75 pounds and good English communication.

Qualifications

• 1 to 4 years previous forklift experience
• Forklift Certification
• Good knowledge of lumber products
• Ability to deliver high quality, detailed error free work
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English

Responsibilities

• Reads hand written or system generated sales orders to determine product
• Notes all special instructions for filling an order
• Accurately pulls delivery orders and stages for loading as directed
• Accurately pulls delivery orders and packages as directed
• Loads product on trailers for delivery
• Unloads product from incoming rail cars or trailers checking manifest
• Notifies Supervisory of unsafe vehicle requests
• Operates forklift safely following safety rules and regulations
• Performs daily forklift inspections as required by OSHA and company standards
• Assists in inventory and cycle counts as directed
• May operate saw equipment intermittently
• Keeps lanes and areas clean for traffic
• Performs other duties as assigned and remains adaptable
