Job summary

Dave Steel Company, a Walters Group Company, seeks a Forklift Operator for our Asheville, NC fabrication facility on the 2nd shift (Mon–Fri). You will unload stock, handle inventory, and stage materials for production, painting, and shipping, while ensuring material quality and accurate records.

Qualifications

• Certified to operate forklift (license/certification) required.
• Basic ability to handle materials and manage inventory.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Unloads incoming stock and maintains inventory accuracy.
• Pulls material for production and stages for painting, galvanizing, and shipping.
• Ensures quality of processed materials during handling and maintains records.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to a Plant Supervisor, the Forklift Operator will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Unloads incoming stock.
• Performs yard receiving and inventory control.
• Pulls material for production.
• Handles processed materials for staging, storage, and shipping.
• Stages and/or builds loads for painting, galvanizing, and shipping.
• Assures that quality of processed materials is kept during handling.
• Provides equipment support at saw, coper, and blastec equipment.
• Maintains proper records for inventory management.
• Attends spray-out as needed to address touch up requirements.
• Other duties as determined by supervisor.

Position Requirements:

• Certified to operate forklift.
• Basic ability to handle materials.
• Ability to obtain information on ASTM A6 assuring all material received at DSCO meets these requirements.
• Valid Driver's License.

• Monday to Friday
