Job summary

Performance Food Group in Houma, LA seeks a Warehouse Forklift Operator to move and store goods, stock pick slots, and perform safety-focused distribution tasks. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, work in cooler/freezer/dry areas, and ensure accurate inventory flow.

The role requires 6+ months warehouse experience, the ability to lift up to 90 lbs, and reliability for overtime. Day-to-day duties include safety checks and paperwork completion.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 6+ months of warehouse and/or distribution work experience.
• Must be able to work scheduled times and overtime.
• Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly 10–90 lbs depending on location.
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments (cooler, freezer, dry).
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Locates proper slot on storage racks and sets pallets in place with forklift or hand stack items.
• Replenishes pick slots with outgoing stock according to next day's work orders.
• Rotates date-sensitive stock to the front and removes outdated inventory.
• Disperses over-stocked items to available slots for temporary storage.
• Removes empty pallets, cardboard packing, and strapping to proper area.
• Inspects pallets for damage and moves them to storage with pallet jack or forklift.
• Follows safety policies and maintains clean work area.
• Performs safety checks on equipment and prepares supplies for operations.
• Puts on required PPE and Safety Gear.
• Meets productivity and accuracy standards per location.
• Works from receiving sheets and written/verbal instructions; inspects items for damage.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
