Job summary

CMC is seeking a forklift operator in Louisiana to move materials, assemble orders, and support inventory in our facilities. You’ll read orders, operate a forklift, and ensure accuracy of shipments. Join a Fortune 500 company offering Day 1 benefits and opportunities for training and advancement.

The role requires at least 1 year of forklift experience in a construction or manufacturing environment and the ability to work in a manufacturing setting. Competitive compensation is provided.

Qualifications

• 1+ year forklift/loader experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience in construction and/or manufacturing environment.
• Proficient level of computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed and/or shipped.
• Operate a forklift to move material and supplies as required.
• Sort and place materials and items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined sequence.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders in appropriate shipping/holding area.
• Inspect outgoing material for accuracy.
• Assist in performing inventory on material.
• Assist in filling work/shipping orders.
• Assist in unloading and loading of material for customers.
• Perform physical activities including pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via computer program.
• Other duties as assigned.
