Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is seeking a general labor role focused on forklift operation, material handling, and accurate order fulfillment at our facilities. You will read orders, move materials, and keep work areas organized to support production and shipping.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year forklift experience, ability to work outdoors in varying weather, strong communication skills, and the physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds. A HS diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ year forklift / loader experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience in construction and or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to work in uncontrolled climate environment and in the elements.
• Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders.
• Great organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
• Able to operate hand tools.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Sort and place materials and items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed and/or shipped.
• Operate a forklift to move material and supplies as required.
• Perform a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, pushing, reaching, bending over, climbing, and kneeling.
• Assist in unloading and loading customers.
• Assist in filling work/shipping orders.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders in appropriate shipping/holding area.
• Assist in performing inventory on material.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Maintain work area and location organized and clean for orderliness at all times.
• Other duties as assigned in general support of the organization.
