Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. in the United States is hiring for material handling roles across Shipping, Receiving and Production at our Zeeland facility. The positions require the ability to lift up to 40 lbs, work 8–10 hour shifts, and operate in a cold, damp environment.

Training starts immediately with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance with Tyson policies. Starting pay is $22.15 per hour with a $1 per hour shift premium for 3rd shift, and eligibility for benefits from day one, including

Job Description

These positions are responsible for ensuring all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. These positions could work in any department of this meat processing facility include Shipping, Receiving, or Production. Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels.

Physical Requirements

• The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Must be willing and able to lift up to 40 lbs
• The Team Member will stand, walk, bend, squat, stretch, climb, push, pull and reach as required in all areas
• The Team Member will stand 8-10 hours on hard floors
• The Team Member will perform repetitive motions as required in many areas
• The Team Member will work in a cold environment in the mid 30 degrees Fahrenheit
• The Team Member and a damp environment
• The Team Member will work on slippery walking surfaces

Requirements

• Must have 3 months of work experience with the same employer listed on application.
• 3 months of Forklift experience preferred
• Applicants will be considered for Operator level openings. Leveling (pay) is determined based on availability of relevant labor level job. Applicants may choose from any of the roles listed below based on availability: Forklift positions include Extended Run, Forklift Operator and Order Selector Operator.
