Job summary

Schylling Inc. in Lakewood, Washington, is seeking a Forklift Operator for 1st shift. The role involves safely operating forklift and related equipment to load/unload pallets, move product within the warehouse, and stack materials according to SOPs.

You will read work orders, ensure order accuracy, follow OSHA standards, and use RF devices to track inventory. Applicants should have at least 2 years experience, HS diploma, and be able to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Forklift operating certification and training are a plus.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

About the Job

Schylling is an award-winning toy company that has been putting smiles on the faces of children, and children-at-heart, for over 50 years. Our warehouse operations are in Lakewood, WA and we are currently seeking an experienced Forklift Operator. The most suitable candidates will be able to complete the following:

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate forklift and/or other machinery (dollies, carts hand trucks, etc.) to complete tasks such as loading/unloading pallets/product, moving product within the warehouse, and stacking pallets or materials in the correct manner.
• Read work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed from receiving area to storage/other determined areas.
• Ensure complete product accuracy on every order, while maintaining operational standards.
• Follow inventory control instructions when sorting/placing items on racks, shelves, or in reserve locations.
• Work with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets (for example, pulling and placing pallets on/off vertical product racking systems and trucks and maximizing storage by stacking products vertically).
• Experience with standards of operation (OSHA requirements on minimum/maximum speeds, signaling, putting product in appropriate areas).
• Use technology such as RF devices, computers and smartphones.
• Use safe practices and methods to handle products heavier than 50 pounds and can stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, climb stairs, and reach frequently during shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness in the assigned area.
• Keep safety a priority.
• Other duties needed to fulfill our mission.

The base hourly range for this position is $22.75-$23.75. Offered base compensation within this range will be determined based on a candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographic location and other factors relevant to the scope and responsibilities of this role.
