Job Opening: Forklift Operator in Tyler, TX

This hourly role follows the Scotts/Hawthorne step pay progression scale, typically starting at $18.30 per hour, paid weekly. Actual pay may vary based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Role Overview

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating forklifts or other equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The role includes ensuring safe and efficient operation and may also involve duties as an Order Filler and Checker.

Responsibilities:

• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
• Stack and store merchandise efficiently in designated areas.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and undamaged; report variances.
• Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring accuracy in quantity and type.
• Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards.
• Move product from staging or storage into rail cars or trailers.
• Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, or other power equipment to load, unload, and stage products.
• Use radio frequency equipment for various warehouse functions as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of equipment and materials.
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment daily.
• Operate equipment safely following prescribed methods.
• Keep accurate records and assist in physical inventories.
• Ensure proper stock rotation and security of the warehouse.
• Maintain a clean work area and promote safety practices, complying with OSHA and MSDS standards.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of forklift operating experience.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Ability to read orders for picking and staging.
• Ability to complete pre-shift inspections, pass forklift exams, and maintain a valid operator’s license.
