Job Description

Under general supervision, the Forklift Operator will ensure safe and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of food products utilizing equipment including, but not limited to, sit-down and stand-up forklifts, high-reach forklifts, stand-up straddle trucks, walk-behind forklifts, pallet jacks, double pallet jacks, and radio frequency equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Efficiently and safely load and unload freight using proper equipment to move products to storage throughout the facility.
• Stack and store merchandise, pick and assemble orders, check freight for accuracy, damage, and infestation, and perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as directed by management.
• Operate equipment in a manner that promotes safety and complies with OSHA standards.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment while meeting production standards.
• Perform other duties such as inventory management, cleaning, forklift battery changes, and other tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Three months of related work experience preferred.

Additional Skills

• Ability to work independently and adhere to attendance policies.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform essential functions, including operating a forklift, sitting, hearing, talking, using hands, and visual tasks. Must tolerate working in cold environments, heights up to 30 ft., and lifting weights up to 55 lbs. regularly.

Work in temperature-controlled environments and outside conditions, with accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
