Position Description

We are immediately hiring a Permanent Full-Time Material Handler II to support our facility at Ryder in Richmond, Virginia.

We seek the right Warehouse Associate to join us at Ryder and work in a safe supply chain environment with state-of-the-art equipment.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting at $17.00 per hour + $1.00 shift premium for 2nd shift
• Products handled: Retail consumer goods
• Equipment: Ability to learn and operate powered industrial equipment such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, etc.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• At least two years of related warehouse and powered industrial lift experience required
• Ability to read, perform basic math, and understand/respond to written and verbal instructions in English for safety and work purposes
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to input data into a computer system
• Work overtime as assigned

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions
• Identify and correct potential process errors to prevent customer impact
• Recognize damaged products during warehousing and take appropriate action
• Accurately pull orders as assigned
• Stage orders according to carrier location, verifying number of pallets and stage location
• Prepare receiving, storage, and shipping documentation, maintaining product accountability
• Follow safety and security policies and procedures at all locations
• May train others in warehouse functions and operate various warehouse machinery
