Position Summary

The Forklift Operator will operate an industrial forklift/reach truck to accomplish various materials handling assignments. Tasks include receiving, filling, shipping, and inspecting orders accurately and timely; efficiently and safely loading, unloading, and conveying materials. Different skill levels are indicated below.

Responsibilities

• Identify and transport requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, trucks, and storage areas.
• Obtain production schedules and shipping orders; verify and transport requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly.
• Understand machine loading capacities and schedules to ensure prompt and efficient delivery.
• Use protective materials and strapping equipment to secure loads; remove strapping and dispose of waste materials safely after delivery.
• Report problems with materials or transportation to the supervisor.
• Perform other related duties as requested.

Qualifications

Level One Qualifications:

• Ability to safely operate reach trucks and other equipment as required.
• Perform physical inventory requests.
• Print and label SAP tags properly.
• Proficient with RF scan guns.
• Material transfers in SAP.
• Handle freezer put-away in SAP.
• Cover pack-off.
• Basic proficiency in SAP.
• Basic math, language, and reading skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work is performed in a manufacturing and office environment with moderate noise levels. Must be able to lift 40 lbs (wooden skid or pallet) and maintain focus and situational awareness.
