Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to transport veneer to bays and verify visuals/specs.
• Complete daily forklift inspection before shift, checking fluids, brakes, lights, etc.
• Refuel and move veneer from hot house to bays and stack on infeed table.
• Record receiving data by scanning barcode tags, update SAP inventory.
• Maintain clean, safe warehouse; address safety and housekeeping issues.
• Assist Veneer Graders or other associates as needed.
• Remove scrap veneer and band for shipment.

DescriptionThree positions for an hourly Forklift Operator within the Press Departments are now open at the Natchitoches EWP Mill. 1 position is open on Press A, 1 position is open on Press B, and 1 position is open on Press C. The role will be responsible for driving a forklift to transport veneer to the correct bays in the Press Department and assure the veneer meets all specifications prior to processing.The wage for this role $22.19 per hour.KEY FUNCTIONS:Determine from the Production Lead what materials will be running during the shift.Complete daily forklift inspection prior to shift, checking fluids, brakes, lights, and other features.Refuel appropriately as needed.Drive forklift to obtain veneer from the hot house and transport to the bays, and stack on the infeed table.Keep a record by pulling barcode tags from each bundle, scanning the tag for inventory and accounting purposes.Receive loads of veneer when needed, ensuring bills of lading match with veneer received.Enter receiving data into SAP.Ensure the warehouse is clean.Possibly breakout Veneer Graders or other associates.Take out scrap veneer buggies and band up scrap veneer. Band stickers, preparing them for shipment.Ensure trash carts and dumpsters are empty.Immediately address all safety and housekeeping issues.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsHS diploma/GEDA current resume or detailed education and work history is required for consideration.Must successfully pass a forklift certification test.Previous forklift certification with Weyerhaeuser or previous employer a plus.Attention to detail is absolutely necessary.Strong team building capabilities.Good judgement and decision-making skills.Must exhibit the ability to lead and promote a pro-active safety culture;Must be able to pass the appropriate spec tests with 100% score.Must be able to pass the Forklift Operator certification checklist.Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and holidays as operating conditions require.About Wood ProductsWe've been delivering quality building products and solutions to our customers for more than 100 years.
