Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Forklift Operator for a contract-to-hire role in Lockhart, TX. The position involves safe operation of forklifts, loading/unloading, and inventory tasks in a cold/warehouse environment.

Qualified applicants will have 1+ year of warehouse or forklift experience, stand-up forklift or reach truck proficiency, RF scanner use, and a High School Diploma. Compensation ranges hourly with full-time benefits. Training and certification are available upon hire.

  • Minimum 1 year RECENT experience operating stand-up forklift or reach truck.
  • Proficient with warehouse equipment and RF scanners.
  • Forklift certification preferred; ability to obtain upon hire.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year spent in each position on resume.

Responsibilities

  • Move products and packages throughout the warehouse using forklifts and equipment.
  • Perform equipment checks prior to the start of the shift and notify management of any issues or safety concerns.
  • Load and unload materials and merchandise from trucks and place them in the appropriate location within the warehouse for storage.
  • Notify supervision regarding any deficiencies in quality, customer shortages, or damaged products.
  • Stage pallets as needed for shipment.
  • Select products according to tickets and accurately place them in boxes for shipments, including product labeling and box building.
  • Assemble daily shipments by order location and category.
  • Ensure orders are packed into appropriate shipping containers for customer delivery.
  • Inspect the product during packing to ensure there is no damage.
  • Perform quality control assessments and stack items safely and securely.
  • Build boxes as needed for the shipment of products to customers.

Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description

Support the warehouse operation by working cross-functionally to move products and packages throughout the warehouse and load and unload materials. The warehouse team member is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, storage, and distribution of goods within a warehouse facility. Duties also involve inventory management, order fulfillment, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate must collaborate well with other team members to create a positive work environment and healthy team culture.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills
  • Minimum 1 year of RECENT (within the last 2 years) experience in a warehouse or forklift-related role.
  • Minimum 1 year of RECENT experience operating a stand-up forklift and/or reach truck.
  • Proficient in operating warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, high reach, and pallet jacks.
  • Forklift Certification (pallet jack or high reach) preferred with the ability to attain one upon hire.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year spent in each position on resume.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with inventory management and RF scanners.

Work Environment

This position is within a cold storage facility where temperatures consistently range from under 40 degrees to as low as -2 degrees. Candidates must be open to working shifts from Tuesday to Saturday, 07:00 to 15:30, and Monday to Friday, 16:00 to 00:30

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lockhart, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
