Job summary

Marmon Holdings is seeking a forklift operator in Garland, TX. The role focuses on safe handling of components and materials (sheet metal, structure) using a forklift, overhead crane, pallet jack or hand truck, and includes loading, unloading, transporting and storing goods to sustain production flow and inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport components/materials to required departments using forklift, overhead crane, pallet jack or hand truck.
• Inspect received components/materials using plans, BOM, MOC, receipt slip and related documents.
• Identify components/materials and ensure accurate handling.
• Maintain reception area cleanliness and prepare for recycling; manage pallet-related tasks.
• Attach lifting devices (slings, hooks) as needed.
• Bundle/wrap material for shipment.
• Communicate non-compliance and assist in reports; support inventory accuracy.
• Support inventory counts and equipment storage areas.
• Assist with loading of units when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The individual will be responsible for the safe handling of small to large components and materials (sheet metal, structure) using a forklift. They will also load, unload, transport and store the goods using a forklift, overhead crane, pallet truck or hand truck.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Safely carry out and transport components and materials to the various required departments using a forklift (6,500 lb propane), an overhead crane, a pallet jack, or a hand truck.
• Inspect the components & materials received using the plans, BOM, MOC, receipt slip and other relevant documents.
• Identify the components & materials received.
• Keep the Reception area safe and clean (cutting and dismantling wooden pallets, preparation for recycling, etc.).
• Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift and handle equipment and materials.
• Bundle, wrap or band material for shipment.
• Communicate with supply and quality any non-compliant delivery and participate in the development of the non‑compliance report (quarantine area).
• Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure accurate inventory.
• Participate to inventory/material counts.
• Participate when required in the loading of units.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma
• Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience
• Computer Skills: ERP system and Microsoft office experience (an asset)
• Certificates & Licenses: Forklift license required and overhead crane license (an asset)
• Strong sense of time, organization, and urgency
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Perform work with precision and thoroughness
• Work at a steady pace and produce quality work
