Job summary

FW Logistics in East St. Louis seeks a Sit-Down Forklift Operator to support warehouse operations. You will safely operate a sit-down forklift, load/unload trailers, and position stock in storage.

This role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, $19 per hour, and weekly pay via W2 with direct deposit. A high school diploma or GED and at least 6 months forklift experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must have High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months forklift operation experience in relevant environment.
• Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Able to sit or stand for long periods.
• Able to bend, squat, kneel, reach.
• Must pass site certification after training.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift safely.
• Load and unload trailers, transport stock, and position heavy goods in storage racks.
• Control fork height, tilt, and side-to-side positioning.
• Scan barcodes using RF scanners and log movements via WMS.
• Perform safety checks before starting a shift and maintain safe speeds.
• Complete paperwork and submit it at shift end.
• Ensure racks are efficiently used and free up space.

FW Logistics is an experienced logistic service provider big enough to handle supply chain logistics needs while still being small enough to give specialized service. We seek a dynamic individual to join our team as a Forklift Operator.

As a Sit-Down Forklift Operator, your ability to perform your duties to ensure that customer needs are met, and day-to-day Warehouse activities are executed safely and efficiently is critical to FW Logistics's success. • Pay: $19hr
• Hours: M-F 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM
• Location: East St. Louis

Key Job Responsibilities

• Operation: Safely operate a sit-down forklift
• Material Handling: Load and unload trailers, transport stock, and position heavy goods in storage racks.
• Machine Operation: Control steering, gear selection, and hydraulic levers to adjust fork height, tilt, and side-to-side positioning.
• Inventory Tracking: Scan barcodes using RF scanners and log movements via warehouse management systems.
• Safety Checks: Inspect brakes, steering, and hydraulics before starting a shift, and maintain safe, slow speeds with lowered forks during transit
• Paperwork: Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and turned in at the end of the shift
• Racking: Ensure racks are efficiently used by moving products as necessary to free up space and ensure the product is free from damage

Requirements

• Must have high school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 6 months of operating a forklift in a warehouse, fulfillment center, distribution center or manufacturing environment
• Ability to work independently and as an effective team member
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
• Able to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach at or above shoulder level
• Able to work in a warehouse environment where temperatures fluctuate based on external and internal weather conditions
• Successful completion of site certification after training is required for employees assigned to this account
