Job summary

FW Logistics in East St. Louis, IL is seeking a dynamic Sit-Down Forklift Operator to support daily warehouse operations.

You will safely operate a sit-down forklift, load and unload trailers, transport stock, and position heavy goods in storage racks to meet customer needs. Responsibilities include scanning barcodes with RF scanners, logging movements in the warehouse management system, performing safety checks, and ensuring paperwork is completed accurately at shift end.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months forklift experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently.
• Able to sit and/or stand for long periods.
• Successful completion of site certification after training.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit-down forklift.
• Load and unload trailers, transport stock, and position heavy goods in storage racks.
• Control steering, gear selection, and hydraulic levers to adjust fork height, tilt, and side-to-side positioning.
• Scan barcodes using RF scanners and log movements via warehouse management systems.
• Inspect brakes, steering, and hydraulics before starting a shift and maintain safe speeds with lowered forks.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and turned in at shift end.
• Move products to optimize rack space and protect against damage.
