ForceSource in Ames, IA is seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to support safe material movement and accurate inventory management within our warehouse. You will operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners while adhering to safety standards and productivity goals.

Responsibilities include load/unload, routine equipment checks, and collaboration with supervisors to optimize space and workflow. Experience with WMS and shipping/receiving is preferred. This is a full-time on-site role.

Qualifications

Overview

Join our dynamic logistics team as a Forklift Operator and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. Responsibilities

• Safely operate various types of forklifts including reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility.
• Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
• Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and manual counting methods to track stock levels accurately.
• Assist with order picking, shipping & receiving, and material handling tasks to fulfill customer orders efficiently.
• Follow strict forklift safety protocols and OSHA guidelines to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment.
• Support warehouse management by organizing storage areas, stacking pallets safely, and ensuring proper manual handling techniques are used during heavy lifting tasks.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate distribution activities, optimize space utilization, and improve overall workflow.

Experience

• Proven experience operating forklift equipment such as reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, or Hi-Lo forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning technology, and inventory management procedures.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety standards including OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols.
• Experience with materials handling equipment operation like pallet jacks and lift trucks for heavy lifting tasks.
• Prior work in shipping & receiving environments with a focus on order picking, load & unload procedures, and manual handling techniques.
• Warehouse supervisor experience or familiarity with warehouse distribution processes is a plus.
• Strong basic math skills for inventory counts and measurements; ability to perform equipment repairs or troubleshoot minor issues is advantageous.
