Job summary

Wabash in Lafayette, Indiana, is seeking a reliable Material Handler to support production by operating forklifts and related equipment, stocking lines, and processing parts and supplies.

The role includes safety-focused daily tasks, reporting issues, and collaborating with other departments; training will be provided to work with cranes, tuggers, and hoists on a busy production floor.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED equivalent required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass PIV (power industrial vehicle) training.
• Basic reading, writing, math, & verbal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Owning and helping improve our performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery
• Maintaining and reporting daily receiving and shipping activities
• Reporting defects and needs for repairs
• Keeping lines stocked with the proper materials
• Performing additional work as assigned by the supervisor or coordinator, which may require the employee to assist in different departments
• Wearing approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses with side shields, respirators, hearing protection, etc.
• Completing assigned duties in accordance with safety, policies, and practices, including your individual safety, as well as the safety of co-workers, and the safe use of equipment in the workplace
