ProTrans seeks a Forklift Material Handler to load, unload, and move materials within the center, cross dock, trailers, yard, or work site. You will operate a forklift and related equipment, with a focus on safety and accuracy.
The role requires reading work orders, inspecting items, and following procedures to ensure correct handling, labeling, and documentation according to ProTrans standards. Evening and night shift duties apply.
Sun – Thu, 10:30 pm – 7:00 am
$18.15 + $1.00 shift differential for 3rd shift ($19.15/hr total)
The Forklift Material Handler loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the center, cross dock, trailers, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. High‑school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and write in English is required. Bilingual English/Spanish is desired in some centers.
Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Able to use scanning equipment.
Must pass the Protrans Forklift Performance Test.

Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception. Specific hearing abilities required include the ability to hear other forklifts, nearby individuals, and the common noises of the environment at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme outside weather conditions, occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
