Job summary

Alta Equipment Group is seeking a Forklift Field Service Technician for our Sterling Heights, MI location. This full-time role provides a company van, fuel card, and comprehensive benefits, with first-shift hours and hourly pay.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs for customer equipment, along with high-quality customer service. Ideal candidates have forklift repair experience, field experience, and strong knowledge of electric and LP units.

Qualifications

• Two years of forklift repair experience; military MOS/NEC listed is a plus.
• Field experience is highly preferable.
• Strong knowledge of electric and LP units.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and own tools.
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
• Experience with HYPASS, Hyster TKC, and Yale/Hyster systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on customer forklifts and material handling gear.
• Diagnose and repair customer equipment promptly and professionally.
• Complete repairs in a timely, efficient manner and document work.
• Provide exceptional customer service and manage workload independently.
• Submit required paperwork and manage vehicle/parts inventory.
• Follow Alta's Guiding Principles in daily activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain reliable attendance.
