Job summary

Barkley Seed is seeking a Forklift Driver to support our agricultural seed and feed product operations. You will operate forklifts to move materials, assist mill staff, and ensure accurate handling during conditioning and packaging processes.

Qualifying candidates will have forklift experience, at least one year in a warehouse, and the ability to work shifts seasonally. The role requires a valid driver’s license and offers an on-site, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Forklift Drivers perform multiple duties, supporting facility operations for agricultural seed and feed products. The Forklift Driver reports to the production supervisor.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safe and efficient operation of Forklift, supporting facility handling of seed, grain and packaged goods.
• Assist Mill Workers and other staff as operational situations require, guided by the production supervisor.
• Verified and efficient movement of material for conditioning and packaging operations.
• Maintain seed lot integrity in compliance with state, federal and Barkley Seed standards.
• Ensure highest level of sanitation and organization to ensure safe and healthy environment for personnel and product health.
• Loading and unloading various types of truck trailers.
• Maintain clear and accurate written records and with system interface devices when applicable.
• Each operator is responsible for clean‑up of spills associated with his activities.
• Notify supervisor when process deviations are observed relating company practices, safety to staff and seed health.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Experience safely operating forklift, dollies and other loading and moving equipment used in warehouse operations.
• Warehouse experience at 1 year.

EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATION / FORMAL TRAINING

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to do shift work seasonally.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be physically capable of lifting, carrying and loading up to 60‑pound weight.
• Ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop, push, pull and kneel frequently.
• Flexibility to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time as well as climb stairs/ladders as needed.
• Hand dexterity and strength.
• Must be able to continuously climb and descend stairs safely utilizing handrails.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work to be performed in an industrial manufacturing/processing environment: indoors and outdoors.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment with rapid hand and eye coordination.
• May be required to work in outside weather conditions.
• Uneven walking surfaces, heavy machinery, forklift traffic and loud noise.
